Helichrysum argyrophyllum native to the dry places and bare, open, hard ground of the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Sold in nurseries in New Zealand.
It is a hardy, evergreen, mat-forming ground cover or dwarf shrub. It has small, grey leaves that are covered in silvery, white hairs. The papery, daisy-like flowers have canary yellow rays that surround a darker yellow centre. Flowering occurs December to May. The flowers are often cut and dried.
