Orocrambus heliotes is a moth in the Crambidae family. It is found in New Zealand, where it common over pristine upland sedge-filled wetlands in both the South Island and North Island. The habitat consists of swampy tussock grasslands and margins of slow-moving streams. Adults have been recorded from early November to early February.
Orocrambus heliotes has a wingspan is 14–17 mm for males and 15–20 mm for females. The larvae feed on the following species of moss: Sphagnum, Funaria and Breutelia. They also feed on the rush Juncus bufonius (Toad rush)
