Apolinus lividigaster is a small black ladybird found in Australia and New Zealand. It has a body length of 3-4mm. They all have a yellow patch on each side of their thorax; some individuals have a yellow patch between the eyes while others have a dark face. All of them have dark blue forewings covered with fine yellowish to white hairs.
The pupae are oval shaped and mostly white with brown markings near each end. Apolinus lividigaster are found in Australia and New Zealand. The main prey of the larvae and adults is the oleander aphid: Aphis nerii.
