Project Overview[edit | edit source]
This project studied the at-sea movements and diving behaviour of Little Blue Penguins/kororā from Taranaki throughout various stages of their annual life cycle. This data will then be used to assess how changes in the oceanic environment affect the penguins’ foraging behaviour, breeding success and subsequently population developments. These, in turn, will help us to better understand the state of the marine environment along Taranaki coastlines.
