Schizoglossa worthyae is one of five New Zealand’s species of large predatory, air-breathing, land slugs. It is a carnivorous terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusc in the family Rhytididae.
Adults have length >32mm. A characteristic of Schizoglossa worthyae shell is that it has radial grooves.
They have been recorded from Paeroa, South Auckland to Whangarei, Hokianga and the Pureora Forest Park. They are usually found under large logs in the native bush.
Schizoglossa worthyae is classed as threatened and is nationally vulnerable.
