The foliage changes to yellow-green in the summer and provides yellowish-orange autumn colour. A springtime specimen makes a very bright contribution to the landscape. Originates from Asia, China, Japan, Korea, Himalayas.

Quercus serrata 'Aurea' is in the Te Henui John Goodwin's Collection.
