Melaleuca viminalis was first named in 2009 when Callistemon viminalis was transferred to the present genus.
Melaleuca viminalis is a cultivar plant in the myrtle family, Myrtaceae. It is a compact version of the common Bottlebrush (Melaleuca viminalis).
It is a dwarf bottlebrush with a compact rounded shape. It grows to a height of 1.5 and a width of 1.5m. It has dense blue to green foliage that is soft and furry.
The flowers are a traditional bottlebrush bright red and they appear spring/summer.
It needs regular watering while getting established, but after the first year, it becomes drought tolerance.
Warning handling this plant may cause skin irritation or allergic reaction in some people.
