Lupinus angustifolius is a species lupin of native to Eurasia and northern Africa. It is a herbaceous annual that is now naturalised in scattered dry waste places in North and South Auckland, Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Canterbury and Otago.
Lupinus angustifolius is an erect, branching plant growing to about 1 m high.
It had palmate leaves which are divided into 5 to 9 linear leaflets that are under 4 centimetres long. The herbage can be slightly hairy in some areas.
The inflorescences which appear August to April, bear many unscented blue flowers.
The fruit is a legume pod 45–60 mm long and contains seeds of varying colours from dark grey to brown to white, or speckled or mottled. The smooth, globular seeds are 4–8 mm diam.
