Luculia gratissima is one of five species of Luculia. All Luculia occur through the Himalayas, Bhutan, and Nepal to the Yunnan Province in China. The pink flowering Luculia gratissima is quick growing small tree that can reach a height of approximately 5 metres. It has a profusion of terminal pink flowers which are highly fragrant during early winter. Luculias older leaves turn red before falling through the colder months. Luculia generally requires protection from severe frosts.
