Cultivar: Lamium maculatum 'Chequers' 

Lamium maculatum 'Chequers' is a cultivar of Lamium maculatum (Spotted deadnettle). Like its parent is a prostrate spreading herbaceous perennial. Its leaves vary from ovate-triangular to heart-shaped and have a white streak down the midline.
inflorescence bears about two to eight hermaphrodite purplish flowers about 20–30 millimetres long. The flowers of the plant are formed in the leaf axils of the upper leaf pairs. The upper lips of the flowers are helmet-shaped, while the bilobate, the lower one is pinkish with purple streaks. The stamens are located in the upper lip and have orange pollen.
This plant is grown as a ground cover. In New Zealand, it flowers during summer.
