Common name: Mountain Mikimiki
Androstoma empetrifolia is a New Zealand straggly native prostrate shrub forming patches up to ± 6 dm. Diam. It has slender wiry branches up to 40cm long and very slender hairy branchlets up to 15cm long bearing thick narrow leaves 3-5 mm long with recurved margins.
During November to February small axillary or terminal flowers appear.
Red 4-5mm drupes mature from January to April.
