Cultivar name: Hebe 'Wiri Splash'

The Hebe “Wiri Splash’ cultivar was breed by Jack Hobbs of the Auckland Regional Botanical Gardens. "It was from a seed collected from and open pollonated plant of H.brachysiphon that mayhave been crossed with a nearby plant of H..'Lavender Lace'.(Lawrie Metcalf)".  He produced 17 cultivars between 1982 and the late 1990s, and gave them all names starting with ‘Wiri’.
Hebe 'Wiri Splash is an evergreen with narrow light green leaves.
In spring/mid summer it produces masses of mauve/white flowers which are attractive to bees and butterflies.
It grows to height to 50cm and a width to 60cm. It tolerates seashore / coastal situations.
