Botanical name: Raoulia hookeri
R. hookeri is a small, mat-forming (1m) prostrate evergreen perennial alpine with tiny rosettes of silver leaves. The tiny spoon-shaped leaves (2-4mm) are covered in a silvery tomentum. In summer it bears small, pale yellow-green flowers (4mm across).
Its habitat is high alpine areas 1200 -2000m m.a.s.l. on the mountains of South Canterbury and southwards through Otago.
